Fine Motor Skills, Handwriting and Cutting Workshops

Fine Motor Skills are the group of skills involved in the ability to manipulate smaller objects with fingers and hands. Some examples are grasping, holding and pinching. These skills are critical and necessary for children not only for the development of writing and the ability to use scissors but for self-care routines including brushing teeth, putting on shoes and buttoning a jacket. All important for independent self-care and living.

The Fine Motor Skills workshops focus on helping participants to improve their grasp, holding and pinching abilities in a fun and child-centered way. The workshops include play, craft and emergent writing activities with a variety of materials and resources.
